OLPH 34th Annual Bazaar & BBQ Dinner
2008 Status
Raffle:
Raffle tickets were one of the biggest contributors to the 2007 Bazaar. We have great prizes again this year that should make them easy to sell. Tickets for each family in the parish are located on the table in the back of the Church. Please make sure to pick up your tickets and make every effort to sell all of them or consider buying them yourself.
We have had good success selling raffle tickets are other parishes in our area. But, we need people to go sell at these other parishes. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of Church that has had only one person sign up so far. Please consider volunteering to sell raffle tickets. It’s a great way to visit another Church in our area, meet other people, and advertise our Bazaar. Contact Dennis Mican or Felix Nunez.
Cleaning Crew:
During the meal and live auction, we always need help with keeping tables clean and keeping trash cans empty. There are always miscellaneous items during the day where help is needed. If you can volunteer some time to help with this, please contact Glenn Krauskopf at 798-7019.
Publicity:
There are flyers located on the table in the back of the Church and in the Parish Office. Please take some flyers and place them around town or at work. Get the word out to family, friends, neighbors, etc.
Country Store:
We need items for the country store. Homemade goods, crafts, jellies, etc. are most welcome. If you have a special knack for making homemade items, please contact Penny Mican at 345-5098
Parking:
Last year we had a large crowd that took all of the available parking space and were spilling over onto the highway and into the field to the side of the KC Hall. We have someone that has volunteered this year to help with keeping the parking organized, but their work schedule might not allow them to attend. If you are interested in helping with parking, please contact Glenn Krauskopf 798-7019.
Kitchen:
If you have signed up to donate items to the kitchen, please get them to Angie Cummings before Friday, Sept. 26 2008. Baked items may be brought to the KC Hall on Saturday or Sunday of the bazaar. We need more baked items and cash donations to offset meat and other purchases. If you have any questions or if you want to help in the kitchen, please contact Angie Cummings (548-2883) or Janie Bannert (548-2165).
Live Auction:
Last year the live auction had 109 items. To date we have had 16 items donated toward the live auction. Please consider making contact with a business or someone who might be interested in donating an item to the live auction. If you have been to a live auction, you have seen the types of material that sells good at our type of live auction.
The live auction is one of the biggest contributors to the financial success of the bazaar, but we have to have auction items and more importantly… bidders. Contact friends, relatives, other acquaintances, etc. and invite them to the bazaar. If you have questions, if you have something to donate, or know of a potential contact that might donate, please contact Marie Nairn 548-6262.
Silent Auction:
Items are needed such as jewelry, various mementos, assorted gift baskets, etc. Please contact Florence Garcia 548-5176 if you have items to donate.
